The swim is in a very narrow channel lake feed and makes for a great swim as spectators can watch from the side or bridges over heard. The bike course takes you through downtown and in front of the capital building and has a few Texas hills to conquer. The run is tough as it is very open and the Texas heat can take it's toll on the body. Spectators line the bike and run paths make for some much needed encouragement. It has a large number of participants which brings out a large spectator base.
