Awesome race, this was the first time it was organized and some 750 triathletes where present. The whole race takes place on the grounds of the water sport center, restaurants, buildings, 1 mile swimming strip and wide enough so that the going out and coming in lanes do not conflict. Great highway and country roads for the bike race, excellent traffic management and volunteers. Signs could be read far ahead so safety was great although get used to riding on the left side of the road, it is the UK you know !
Run along the 3 mile around the water and rowing stretch to then run along the river Trent and passing Nottingham Forest Soccer Stadium!
Food, medical, music, announcers, the care for details for the spectators and athletes plus so many other little things have made it to an UNFORGETTABLE event. Every athlete who finishes is declared and Outlaw like The famous Robin Hood from Sherwood forest close to Nottingham forest. More to come when my memory comes back.
