Race Description: All routes (with the exception of the Mt. Tam Century) have an option to bail out so riders can shorten their ride back to the finish. We say this so you know there is a parachute. However, we encourage you to ride the furthest distance you feel you can in order to give you a sense of achievement.

All of the Marin Cyclist Century rides are among California's most beautiful and unique bicycle tours. All 2009 courses begin and end at Vallecito School in San Rafael. The courses travel the rural roads of West Marin and Southern Sonoma Counties. The terrain varies from gentle rolling hills along the coast to a few very challenging climbs.

No complaints at all. Registration was easy and fast, food stops were well stocked, and the folks at all locations were friendly and helpful. Riding in Marin is a treat. Views were great, and there were enough hills to make the ride strenuous and memorable. I have ridden this before and will plan on riding it again.

I did the 100K, the course was beautiful and on some great country roads with little traffic. The rest stops had plenty to eat and drink, and there were more stops then necessary so we skipped a few but it was nice to have the option. The course was well marked and the volunteers at the stops were very nice and helpful. I would definitely do this ride again, it was a lot of fun and a great way to spend a Saturday morning

Did the Marin 100K this past weekend with a group of friends from Marin. The race is enjoyable in that the scenery is fantastic, the course elevation is varied enough to keep you engaged and breaking a sweat, and the rest stops are stocked with an amazing assortment of foods. They even served wheels of brie... how Marin! Everything was really great except for two things, 1 - the price seemed a little steep for a bike ride and 2 - the finish line was beyond anti-climatic. If I'm charging for 60 miles and pay almost $100 for the race I'd like a little music and hoopla, and maybe an announcer at the finish. Granted, for 60 miles it wasn't that impressive of a feat to warrant cheerleaders at the end, but I did feel bad for the Double Century finishers who rode home to an empty finish with a floppy balloon bridge tied down in the corner, no spectators, no lights, no music, no nada. So sad. Otherwise, pretty sweet event. If they work on the finish line they get five whopping stars next year!

very beautiful, well organized, great work out century. Can either do 100 mile ride or 100 K. We did the 100 K the first time and now we are ready for the 100 mile!
